With 20 years of experience in process auditing in a wide range of industries, t4t is an expert in the field of process visualization, which illustrates the internal mechanisms of a company in detail through the presentation and analysis of business processes and workflows. Process auditing is particularly important in mergers and acquisitions, for example. Before an interested buyer acquires a company, he will want to find out about the details and particularities of the potential object of purchase.
The process of process visualization
Typically, process mapping takes place in the context of a workshop, usually lasting several days, in which dozens of customer-specific diagrams are created in PowerPoint. The t4t business expert thus first determines the status quo of a company without the aid of a specific process modeling tool and creates simple, easy-to-understand diagrams in PowerPoint.
A process workshop usually proceeds as follows: First, the t4t business expert presents the methods he uses to visualize processes. Next, in a joint working session with the workshop participants, he identifies one or more of the customer's products that can be used as examples for illustration. They then design a first "big picture" process graphic that gives a good overview of the processes of the company as a whole.
Once this part of the workshop is completed, the t4t business expert and the participants work on the details: They create a list of all processes that need to be included in the analysis - from sales and purchasing to logistics and production. Then these processes are divided into small working groups. In separate sessions, each group works out the details of the processes to be mapped. Should it become apparent during the workshop that relevant information is missing, additional meetings can be arranged with the t4t team.
The added value for your company
Process visualization provides a complete overview of the inside of a company and shows the interrelationships between systems and departments (as shown in Figures 1 to 3). It thus serves as a solid basis for decision-making in mergers and acquisitions.
