Our customer, a mechanical engineering company in Germany, introduced SAP. It was only at a very late stage of the SAP project that the company realized that employees also needed to be trained.
The company then invited t4t to an introductory meeting. After this appointment, the customer asked us to calculate a common training project. The calculated six-figure sum seemed much too high to the customer, as he had not planned a training budget for the SAP project. We were therefore given a cost framework within which we were allowed to operate. Due to the limited budget, we concentrated on the essential topics of an SAP implementation during the user training sessions.
However, when the budget was exhausted, they asked us for a second appointment. The customer told us that they had realised how valuable the qualification of the employees was for the success of the project. We were again given double the amount of the first training budget in order to be able to implement the training project in the originally calculated size.
In the end, the go-live went smoothly and we received follow-up orders for individual workplace coaching. This project clearly shows that employee qualification is one of the most important success factors in an SAP project.
